Gelso Barbera d'Alba Superiore from Gemma is an Italian red wine with a deep purple color. The wine has a delicate taste of prunes and morels, which gives a dry and full-bodied wine with a nice structure. The tannins are distinctive but elegant and the aftertaste is long and spicy. The red wine ages for 12 months in French and Slavonian oak. The red wine emphasizes the flavor in meat, which makes it particularly suitable for e.g. duck breast, steak and lamb. Serve the red wine at a temperature of 15-16°C.

The wine house Cantine Gemma was founded back in 1978 by the Italian Silvano Piacentini, who had a desire to produce the distinguished Italian wines: Barolo, Barbaresco and Barbera d'Alba. Today, the winery owns large parts of the vineyards distributed between the municipalities of Serralunga and Monforte d'Alba.
