G7 THE 7TH GENERATION CARMENERE GRAN RESERVA CHILE 2012
Deep ruby red color with violet hints. Intense aromas of cherries and black plums supported by mild toasted and smorky notes. Its velvety tannins and sweet and developed, while its black fruits notes are married with black bitter chocolate and pepper. Creamy and elegant finish. It’s perfect for savory dishes, especially earthy stews, and moderately spicy or even hot spicy dishes. It also goes well with vegetables alone or meats and vegetables.
Carmenere is a dark-skinned grape variety originally from the vineyards of Bordeaux, and which has found a particularly suitable home in Chile. A late-ripening variety, Carmenere needs high levels of sunshine and a warm summer to reach its full potential, but in the right environment it can produce fine, deeply colored red wines, with the attractive meaty plumpness of Merlot and the gently herbaceous, cedary notes of Cabernet Sauvignon.
