CITTO CHIANTI VOLP TUSCANA 2009

This baby Supertuscan "Citto' or 'young boy,' is a blend of declassified juice from Chianti Classico with Cabernet Sauvignon from Volpaia's Maremma property. 65% Sangiovese and 35% Cabernet. The Sangiovese provides the telltale Tuscan red and black cherry flavor profile, while the Cabernet provides the muscle. Vivid ruby in color. Aromas of ripe red fruit, leather and grilled meat on the nose lead to sour cherry on the palate with a firm backbone of acidity and grippy, young tannins.
