Before Malbec dominated the vineyards of Argentina, Bonarda was the top grape grown in Mendoza, and for good reason. Like Malbec, wines made from Bonarda have a great core of fruit and are universally appealing, but Bonarda has lower tannins and a bit higher acidity. These smooth, juicy reds are a darling of South American wine lovers for good reason - they are a more refreshing option and incredibly versatile at the dinner table.
